PARTNERING TO BUILD AND RUN A MATERNITY WARD IN UGANDA

YOUR FIRST HELLO HAS MADE A WAY FOR THEIR FIRST HELLO!

River here and I’m am currently in Uganda!

As many of you know we have been committed to partnering with the Love Mercy Foundation to contribute to the construction and operations of a much needed maternity ward - alongside the Kristina Health Centre in Northern Uganda - since we started The First Hello 8 years ago. 

This week Eloise Wellings and I had the opportunity to touch base again with the local staff, meet some of the local mamas and also be part of a pre-natal clinic. And yes we had the time of our lives. 

Many of these women used to be forced to walk long distances when pregnant and often didn’t have access to lifesaving maternity services. Many would give birth at home or on the way to the hospital which caused the maternal and infant mortality rates in Uganda to be amongst the highest in the world. AND NOW - we finally got to see in person how your generosity, along with so many others, has made a huge difference.
