Two women wearing towels on their heads, sunglasses, and fur coats sitting in bed with cream-colored bedding. One woman holds a cocktail glass, the other has a martini glass. An orange donut-shaped balloon floats above them, with a stack of books on a nightstand beside the bed.

Say hello to the book.

This year marks 10 years of The First Hello Project — a decade of countless first hellos that led us to something bigger than we could have imagined.

To celebrate, we’ve been dreaming, building and starting to quietly work on something new — and we’re ready to let you in on the secret.

We’re making a BOOK!

Yep, we’re doing it. And this won’t be your grandma’s baby book. We think birth is profound — and we have an archive of 10 glorious years to prove it.

Our belief is birth deserves to be seen. Not just as pain or process — but as power, story and soul. Those first hello moments — the cries, the soft untouched baby skin, the stillness of the birthing suite at 2am deserve to live beyond the hospital walls and camera rolls.

Too often, birth is hidden, rushed or silenced. We want to make it visible, unforgettable and beautifully honoured for women everywhere.

So this is more than just a photography book.

It’s remembrance.
It’s recognition.
It’s revolution.

With this new project, we’re in unchartered territory and it’s a big risk. To be honest, we’re quite nervous to be self-publishing! But we have faith that you, our First Hello community, will get behind us, as you’ve done all these years. And we know we have an incredible archive of moments the world needs to see.

So we’d love to invite you to jump on board with us — just two girls with a dream, who have the audacity to believe we can add some beauty in amongst the darkness and celebrate humanity once again.

We’re going to be giving you all the BTS on making this book, telling some of the stories that become iconic for us and having some laughs along the way.
